How does Artisan find candidates for my roles?
We pre-screen, reference check, and interview candidates before presenting them. Our focus is on creative, digital, and marketing talent across freelance, contract, and permanent roles in Australia.
How long are candidates exclusively represented by Artisan?
Candidates we present are exclusively represented for 12 months from the date of introduction. Any direct offers during this period must involve Artisan.
Can I trial a candidate before hiring permanent?
Yes. Temporary assignments allow clients to assess candidates on-site. Trials are treated as separate assignments and provide an opportunity to ensure suitability.
Onboarding & Assignments
What do I need to do when a candidate starts?
Provide a clear position description, induction, and supervision. Treat the candidate as part of your team, maintain regular communication, and ensure a safe work environment.
How do timesheets work for temporary candidates?
Timesheets are submitted and approved via our external portal. Your nominated supervisor will receive notifications to authorise hours worked, including overtime.
How do breaks and overtime work?
Breaks must comply with Australian law (30 minutes every 5 hours). Overtime is calculated per agreed rates and applies for evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
Performance & Feedback
How is candidate performance monitored?
Artisan checks in on the first day, weekly, and last day of assignment. We encourage clients to provide feedback on performance, suitability, and any changes in the role.
What happens if a candidate is unsuitable?
Artisan will replace, where suitable, a candidate during temporary assignments and if within agreed guarantee period on permanent placements, if they do not meet the position description. Clear feedback and timely communication help us resolve any issues.
How do I handle confidentiality?
Candidate resumes, folios, and personal details are confidential. Do not share with third parties. Breach of privacy will need to be addressed appropriately by Artisan.

How do I extend a contract or convert to permanent?
